ADHD
Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is the name of a group of behaviors found in many children and adults. People who have ADHD have trouble paying attention in school, at home or at work. They may be much more active and impulsive than a lot of others of their age. Sometimes these behaviors can contribute to significant problems in relationships, learning and behavior. For this reason, children who have ADHD are sometimes seen as being "difficult" or as having behavior problems. Sometimes children only show attention problem and is the hyperactivity component not so prominent. Children even can be extremely quiet and introvert. Then also the name ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) is used. But on the other hand, when you look in a positive way to who the individually are, children with ADD and ADHD are amazing. They have special aspects that will help them to be extremely successful in life but they need to be become aware of this. Otherwise they hear only the negative aspects of ADD - that they can't sit still, don't pay attention, don't try hard enough, and so on. Children with ADD are usually very bright but others see their curiosity and inquisitiveness as distractibility. Their restlessness gives them great energy. They do try hard and when given proper direction and support, they will be successful. Parenting them is hard work but if parents hold on, they will enjoy the intelligence, wit, creativity and energy of their child. There are parents that consider ADHD as a series of special gifts to a child that conflict with the school. ADHD is not a learning disability; the children are intelligent, resourceful, imaginative, sensitive and are just as good as anyone else. But it is necessary keeping the child's self-esteem. It has opportunities to develop the true gifts and strengths -- not simply finding ways to fit into the general mold. An ADHD child is really individuality. In this section you will find various pages about ADHD topics. VideoMitul si site-ul lunii |
